We’ve heard quite a bit of Chelsea mentioned in the Frenkie de Jong transfer saga this summer, but mostly we’ve imagined it was just Barcelona throwing our name out there to try and get Man U to raise their bid.
But the last few days have really seen the links intensify, and we’re starting to believe there’s real interest there.
Catalan paper Sport today have written that Chelsea have begun to negotiate the signing already, and that they’re looking to “hurry” and complete it before the new season.
That would mean getting a deal done in the next 3 days, which seems unlikely, but even if things are just significantly advanced by our match on Sunday, that would be big progress.
Barcelona need to sell him, and if we’ve learned anything this summer it’s that he really doesn’t want to go to Man U.
So in that case – why not Chelsea?
