Chelsea are attempting to make at least one more major signing this summer after recruiting Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The club have been working hard on new deals in the last couple of weeks and after missing/pulling out on signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla, they have ramped up their efforts to sign Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana, but any deal seems very tough.
Sources: Updates on 8 players who are trying to leave Chelsea this window.
The fee being mentioned around by all the major sources already makes it seem like it will be a hard one to complete. However, the fact Leicester are even willing to negotiate, tells you that something can be done here.
The Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers though is clear that Fofana is not for sale. But we have all heard that before and should never take a manager’s comments as gospel during transfer season.
Fabrizio Romano reports as well, that Chelsea have no intention to give up on signing Fofana even after those comments…
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers tells @owynnpa that Wesley Fofana is “not for sale”, very clear on club position – same as the board. 🔵 #LCFC
Chelsea have still no intention to give up and will try to negotiate again next week on Fofana/Gvardiol, both really difficult. #CFC pic.twitter.com/PXbRRxBSxa
