Chelsea are still trying to sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
With time running out now, The Blues need to work quick to get the two or three more transfer deals that they are trying to complete this summer, over the line. It could make for a dramatic deadline day for Chelsea fans with the way things are going right now.
Fofana is a primary target for Chelsea, reports The Evening Standard‘s Chelsea correspondent, Nizaar Kinsella today.
He claims that Leicester are holding out for a world-record fee for a defender, but Chelsea hope to complete a deal for less than the £80m paid by United for Harry Maguire in 2019.
Two bids up to £70m have been rejected so far, with co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali still locked in talks with the Premier League side.
Don’t be surprised if Fofana plays for Leicester again this weekend as this one chips on.
