The news that Chelsea are interested in Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei really gained momentum yesterday, and now we’re hearing more and more details emerge from Italy, convincing us that a move is on the cards.
The fact that we’ve already signed several teenage talents this summer makes us more convinced that this is the overall direction we’re going in, so it all sounds very plausible.
The initial claims were that Inter want €20m for him and we are offering €8m. Today’s follow up from the Corriere Dello Sport says that Chelsea are willing to enter “double figures” (presumably in terms of millions).

We all know how this goes – Inter reject out €10m offer and ask for €18m. We offer €13m with bonuses to take the total sum to €18m. Everyone’s happy.
Some of the talents we’ve signed will go straight into the first team squad, but given Casadei has yet to make a senior appearance at all, it seems more likely he would spend a year on loan or even in the development squad.
