Chelsea have been very confidently linked with a very unlikely attempt to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton.
Sky Sports News started reporting the news shortly after full time in the draw between Chelsea and Tottenham. It’s one that hard to get your head around.
He’s a talent, for sure. But for £4om? That seems very steep. Not only that, but he also doesn’t play in a position that we’re in particular need of strengthening, at least while Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi are still on the books.

Everton look in serious risk of relegation, and are particularly short up front. Even a bid like this which massively overrates his value looks like it would be hard for them to accept, given the circumstances.
This stinks of a smokescreen from another club who are interested – we haven’t quite figured it out for ourselves yet, but we have our doubts about whether this is a real bid.
