Thomas Tuchel insists that young players – and Michy Batshuayi – will get their chance in friendlies

Thomas Tuchel has been speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game in Charlotte tonight, and the Blues boss had plenty of encouragement for the young players, returning loanees and fringe group who are all out there with the definite first team.

“Everybody has the chance now to show up. The big part of it is the players here are a nice, open group, which makes it very easy to feel welcome and show your best level,” the coach said in quotes on the club’s official website.

This is why the youngsters and players like Michy Batshuayi, who feel new in the group, have a big, big, chance. They are responsible for what they make out of it.”

It’s classic Tuchel to try and keep everyone involved, both youngsters and the old hands like Batshuayi, who is competing in about his 5th preseason for the club, despite not having a real chance of being an option this season.

Now this is nothing against Batshuayi of course, he’s a nice guy and a decent player.

But we just don’t wan to see another preseason of him running around preparing for another Super Lig loan while players like Armando Broja and Harvey Vale aren’t given a chance.
