Chelsea are being heavily linked with Matthijs de Ligt in recent days as their top central defensive signing of the summer.
But let’s not forget, we lost two players in that position this summer, and probably need to get two replacements in.
So we’re still watching very closely the situation of Jules Kounde, our target from last summer who was being closely chased until Marina Granovskaia was removed from her position a couple of weeks ago.
The feeling has been that now Chelsea are focused on other targets, Barcelona are going to move for the France international.
That move actually seems feasible now the Catalan club have sold some of their TV rights, but there’s also some good news from Fabrizio Romano.
Sevilla director Monchi: “There are zero contacts with Barcelona for Jules Koundé. No talks ongoing”. ⚪️🔴 #Sevilla
“I understand Xavi as Araújo and Koundé together would be great but there’s nothing. Marcão? He’s one of many options in my list”, he added on Galatasaray’s CB.

In quotes picked up by the transfer insider, Sevilla director of football Monchi said there are “zero contacts” between his club and Barcelona over a move.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be any, but it does mean that Chelsea may have a better chance of coming back with a strong offer for him before Barca get their bid in.
