Juventus ‘waiting’ for Chelsea as Bayern Munich increase their offer

With Raheem Sterling’s move to Chelsea pretty much wrapped up, the Blues will turn their attention to defence, as they hope to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, but are facing stiff competition from Bayern Munich.

According to Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedulla, the German champions have made an offer of €75 million plus add-ons for de Ligt, but the Serie A side want €80 million plus add-ons.

Pedulla reports Juventus are now ‘waiting’ for Chelsea to increase their offer.

It’s really going to come down to which club wants the 22-year-old defender the most and who is willing to fork out the money Juventus want.

Juventus want a bidding war and are certainly getting this.

Chelsea know Thomas Tuchel needs at least two new defenders to replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen and de Ligt is seen as Tuchel’s main defensive target, so I expect Boehly will increase the bid.

The battle between the two clubs continues…
