“It has to” – Thomas Tuchel reveals the thing he will have to think about in future transfers

Chelsea’s whole first team is out in the United States at the moment for preseason training, and some vital friendlies which set up the season.

Well, the whole first team minus two players-  N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Their absence is down to one thing – they are not vaccinated against coronavirus, and therefore can’t get VISAs to the Us.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph today, Thomas Tuchel revealed that vaccination status is something he’s going to have to take into account when signing players in the future – purely because of how it affects situations like this:

“Yes, it has to. I know some players who I would also take without vaccination. I have to say. But, yes, it is a part of daily life at the moment,” the Chelsea boss said.

It’s not clear how long countries like the US will continue their restrictions on unvaccinated people entering the country, but it’s totally rational to consider it as a minor factor when making transfers in the future. There’s no doubt it hurts the players and the team right now that they can’t be with the group.

  1. Tanta incoherencia, el estar vacunado no te garantiza no ser portador, es un beneficio individual, no puede ser obligatoria jamás, acaso el no estar vacunado lo propaga más? No, solo reduce a mortalidad en cada individuo.
