Ex-Chelsea wonderkid goes missing just days after signing for new club

Charly Musonda’s career so far has gone from “missed opportunities” to “genuinely sad”, and it might be about to progress to “properly tragic” if it continues on its current course.

After being released by Chelsea this summer – after year injury ravaged years – the winger joined Zulte Waregem in his native Belgium for a trial, and did well enough to be offered a contract.

But since that offer a few days ago, Musonda has gone “awol”, and there are now real questions about his whereabouts given he should have rejoined them for training some time ago.

The Sun had quotes from the club’s chief executive, who admitted that they had no idea where the winger was, or when he would be back.

Let’s hope there’s an innocent explanation for it all, anyway. All we want is to see the guy play out the rest of his career, wherever it may be, without endless injuries.
