Chelsea set to play Italian side in pre-season friendly

Chelsea have already announced pre-season friendlies against Club America, Charlotte FC and Arsenal in the US and have added another fixture to the diary for this month.

Chelsea have confirmed they will play Udinese in Italy at the Dacia Arena, on Friday 29th July, with kick-off at 8pm UK time (9pm local time), in what will be the final pre-season match.

Supporters can attend the match if they wish, with further information on tickets for supporters said to be announced shortly.

The Blues played there in a pre-season game in August 2001, where the game finished in a 1-1 draw.

The goal was scored by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink via a Gianfranco Zola cross.

It will certainly be a good run out for the team, as Thomas Tuchel will get a rough idea of what his strongest team is for the opening game against Everton at Goodison Park on 6th August.

Tuchel will hope to have his signings in place by the time the first league game kicks off, with Raheem Sterling set to be the first one through the door.
