Chelsea depart for Italy with some youth included – but one kid left out

Chelsea have announced their travelling group heading to Italy to face Udinese in a friendly tonight.

The Blues have almost the whole group together, including youngsters Ethan Ampadu, Billy Gilmour, Armando Broja and Harvey Vale, who are probably the faces fans are most keen to see after barely featuring in this preseason so far.

Back in the group are Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N’Golo Kante, who couldn’t join the rest of the group on the tour of the United States because of their vaccination status.

Timo Werner will not be heading out to Italy, as he’s picked up a medical issue, and it’s apparently the same story with Levi Colwill, who has barely played all summer.

There are two games planned, the main game tonight which will be streamed online, plus a second game tomorrow where the players who don’t get major minutes tonight can complete their push towards match-fitness for the new season.
