Barcelona have seemingly decided to sign every player on their wishlist this summer, and while most of that is being funded by money raised from the sale of their TV rights, they seem to have accepted they need to shift some deadwood of their own.
One player that manager Xavi Hernandez hasn’t really taken to is Sergino Dest. The American full back arrived when Ronald Koeman was in charge and hasn’t really nailed down a full time place despite impressive moments.
Xavi seems desperate to sign Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea, and according to the well connected Moises Llorens of ESPN he’d be willing to get rid of Dest to do it.
Perhaps the clubs can agree a sort of part exchange deal between the two. Chelsea need a backup wing back already, and if they sell Azpilicueta or Alonso they will need one even more.
For all that Barca have foiled out plans this window, they could yet help us out here.
