This morning, Portuguese outlet, A Bola, reported Chelsea were reasdy to table a bid for Sporting CP’s Matheus Nunes, but it now seems it was nothing more than a name drawn out of the hat.
That’s according to CBS Sports’, Ben Jacobs, who has debunked the rumour and mentioned Nunes’ agent has received absolutely no contact from Chelsea and is unaware of any imminent proposal.
The midfielder is believed to be connected with Jorge Mendes, who in the last few weeks has met with new Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly where they discussed about many of his clients and their availability for this transfer window.
It’s called silly season for a reason! I expect to see many more reports linking us to Mendes’ clients.
