Why Cristiano Ronaldo will not sign for Chelsea despite Boehly – Mendes talks

Explosive reports from David Ornstein today claimed that new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met with super agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal this week, where various transfers were discussed, including a sensation Cristiano Ronaldo switch from Manchester United to Chelsea.

CaughtOffside say that it’s “unlikely” that Chelsea sign the attacker – well, we could have told you that.

But they have exclusive information about why.

They say that it was Mendes who requested the meeting with Bohely, who attended “out of courtesy.”

We can’t blame him. If Jorge Mendes invited us to a meeting in Portugal, we wouldn’t hesitate to go, if only for the food and wine rather than the transfer talk.

They add that there is “no real interest” in trying to bring the 37 year old to Stamford Bridge, which also makes sense. As fun as it would be, it’s also a backwards step for a team which needs total regeneration.
