Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of Adrien Rabiot, and tried to sign the midfielder in January, according to reports coming out of Italy today.
The Chelsea boss crossed over briefly at PSG with Rabiot, before the midfielder left for Juventus, but still is aware of his skill set and abilities. According to these latest reports, the German coach wanted Rabiot in the winter window and was only stumped by the club’s inability to shift Saul Niguez.
Thomas Tuchel wants to work with Adrien Rabiot and tried to sign him in January, however, the move was blocked due to #Chelsea not being able to send Saul back to Atletico early.

Rabiot is a fabulously talented player, there’s no doubting that, but his entourage are notoriously difficult, and last summer’s Euros saw them at the centre of all kinds of bad blood after France’s elimination.
Rabiot is a free agent next summer, so financially there’s not a huge risk compared to some of the options on the market. But in terms of squad harmony, there’s no doubt that there will be some alarm bells ringing if this does happen.
