Chelsea’s players are on holiday (well, those not on Nations League duty), and Thomas Tuchel is also taking a well deserved break after a gruelling season.
Last night he was spotted in Perugia, where he had a pizza and ended up chatting to the restauranteur about football.
The Chelsea boss apparently “had a bit of a laugh” about the Romelu Lukaku situation, according to the translated quotes on Football Italia.
There are also some funny blurry selfies of him on site.
The implication is that he is back with his wife Sissi, despite their recently completed divorce.
Tuchel was about as good as you could hope a manager to be through a season which was full of stresses and disappointments, with the pressures of sanctions on his employer, followed by a multibillion pound takeover of the club.
We hope he enjoys his break, but you can be sure that he’s also in constant communication with Petr Cech and Marina about the transfer window.
I am a Chelsea fan & have been since the 70’s but you can’t blame Lukaku for not scoring goals when he is not getting the service & balls into the box, I will be sorry if he goes but wish him the best of luck wherever he goes
