It is finally official – Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter on a season-long loan, after he completed his medical examinations and paperworks today in Milan.
Lukaku’s second stint at Chelsea has shortly come to an end, having joined the club last summer from Inter.
It is a real shame his journey has come to an end so quickly again.
There was so much hype last summer from the Chelsea fans and Lukaku’s return, but it really was created by his own downfall.
With the unauthorised interview with Sky Italy back in December, it felt like the nail in the coffin already.
The comments he made on Chelsea, whilst expressing his love on a return to Inter, having only left four months ago were very unprofessional and from an outside perspective it felt like he threw the whole team under the bus.
This specific interview was never going to be brushed under the carpet and it really did feel like it was an uphill battle from there onwards for the striker and rightly so.
Now today, all parties are happy they could complete a move early in the window.
Chelsea can now focus on attacking incomes and Rom is back where he feels happy and that is Inter Milan.
