Marina Granovskaia to leave Chelsea this summer

Marina Granovskaia is set to leave Chelsea imminently, according to an exclusive from Matt Law at the Telegraph.

It follows on this morning’s news of chairman Bruce Buck’s departure at the end of this month – already confirmed by the club and backed by a statement himself.

There had been strong rumours that Marina might stay on longer, given her role in conducting transfer negotiations, and there still sounds like a good chance that she remains in place to tie up the final pieces of some deals in motion.

However Law’s piece claims that “some sources” believe she will go “before the transfer window closes.”

That leaves new owner Todd Boehly – also set to take over Buck’s role as chairman – as the key figure in transfer negotiations, and shows just how centralised power could be in this new system.

We await official confirmation, but Law is rarely wrong on these things.
