Simon Bajkowski is the Manchester City correspondent for the Manchester Evening News, and when he says something about the club we tend to believe it.
His piece today claims that the Citizens don’t want to sell Nathan Ake this summer – and will only do so if they get a big offer and have a replacement in place.

All of that will make it very hard for Chelsea to buy him.
Even if we were willing to pay £50m for the defender, and there’s no guarantee we would be, we would then be relying on them finding a player they like as a replacement, then going through their own process to sign him.
It certainly makes the rumours that he might be included in the Raheem Sterling deal look silly. Sterling is a player who they can happily sell without needing to replace directly – wheras Ake is an important squad player they don’t want to do without.
