Lukaku’s return to Inter ‘held up’ by Inter president Steven Zhang

The return of Romelu Lukaku to his beloved Inter feels like it is on the verge of happening with Chelsea wanting this to go through, but the deal has currently been held up.

According to the reliable David Ornstein, from The Athletic, Inter Milan president Steven Zhang has ‘baulked’ at the requested loan of €10 million, which also includes Inter to cover the full salary of the striker.

Ornstein then mentions, there was ‘optimism’ these terms would be accepted by the Italian side, but Zhang is currently having second thoughts, with talks continuing.

I personally feel like there is nothing to worry about here and that a deal should be closed this week. All parties want this deal to happen, it’s just playing the waiting game.

I’m also sure Chelsea want to get this deal wrapped up as soon as possible, so they can focus on incomings themselves, such as Man City forward Raheem Sterling.
