Levi Colwill linked strongly with sale to Southampton – but we just don’t believe it

Southampton are being heavily linked with a move for Chelsea’s Levi Colwill.

The youngster was superb in the youth teams for the Blues, before making the step to on loan at Huddersfield last season. He was brilliant there, and we always knew there would be Premier League interest.

Even a loan seems unnecessary to us – we’re losing two first choice centre backs, and at the very least this talented teenager can have this season as a rotation option.

But TalkSport are saying Southampton are pushing us to sell him permanently – as we did with Tino Livramento to them this time last year.

The implication on their end is that the defender will be sold – but we just don’t believe that. After shedding Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi in the same window, there’s just no way they will sanction a permanent deal for Colwill – at least without a reasonable buy back clause.
