Inter director confirms Lukaku move; says it’s time to “complete the negotiations”

Inter director Beppe Marotta has openly confirmed his team’s deal to sign Romelu Lukaku on loan is complete, in quotes picked up by various sources, including top transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, as you can see in the Tweet embedded her:

Romano and other good sources have been putting out information about the deal for a week now, and we’ve seen clearly delineated the progress towards this conclusion.

Now the Inter administrator has said that his team have “done lots of work” and are “ready to complete the negotiations,” we can imagine it all ending within the next few days.

Romano says his medical is on Wednesday, so it could well be that evening that the move is announced.

An utter disaster for Chelsea, but at least one they can now move on from. The question is who we sign next, with few top targets on the market now that Kylian Mbappe is staying put and Erling Haaland has made his move.
