Well isn’t this just the transfer window summed up.
We’ve just finished reporting on the L’Equipe story that Chelsea have finally put a proper offer on the table for Ousmane Dembele, only to now hear a response from Ben Jacobs that, in fact, they haven’t.
We consider L’Equipe a really good source overall, especially when it comes to French players, but Jacobs has proven himself through the takeover saga as well-connected when it comes to Chelsea.
He insisted that the Blues have not submitted a contract offer to Dembele, and that they are avoiding being “used” to secure him a better extension at Barcelona.
This one could go back and forth a few times from here. These two sources are saying different things, and insiders like Fabrizio Romano are saying something totally different.
As it stands, we’re expecting Chelsea to try and wrap up the signing of Raheem Sterling and then move on from there.
