Chelsea are in serious need for a new centre-back this summer, probably even two.
We have all heard about the Jules Kounde situation, but that has yet to be resolved as the two clubs try to agree on a fee. So Chelsea will of course be in for a number of different defenders to replace two departing ones ourselves.
Antonio Rudiger did his Real Madrid photoshoot yesterday, and Andreas Christensen will soon be confirmed as a new Barcelona player.
A major signing for Chelsea to replace one of them would be Juventus defender Matthijs De Ligt, who Chelsea are consistently being linked with.
Tuttosport, as cited below, have run a story today reminding us that Chelsea are still showing a strong interest in signing the Dutch international this summer.
However, The Italian outlet also say that De Ligt has scheduled meetings with Juventus to try and extend his deal there. It’s an open situation.
#Chelsea and Liverpool are still showing strong interest in Matthijs de Ligt, but Juventus have scheduled fresh meetings to extend the defender’s contract.
