Chelsea pair struggle on England duty

Chelsea’s first team played almost 70 games this season – yet they still have a host of players being called into action for the Nations Leagues games this fortnight.

England were on duty tonight, and the Chelsea boys on display didn’t have a great time.

Mason Mount was WhoScored’s lowest rated England player, with a final mark of 6.3. He was the only Blue to start the game – but Reece James came on in the second half, only to give away a penalty.

They both looked pretty jaded, and who can blame them? Mount played a ridiculous amount of football this season, as did James either side of a pretty serious injury.

Conor Gallagher will feel hard done by to have not made an appearance at all, but that likely means a start in the next game.

We just pray they can all make it through these next few matches without picking up an injury.
