Chelsea named as one of the teams interested in hard-working Atletico winger

Chelsea’s search for an effective winger goes on, and they’re clearly spreading their net far and wide across Europe.

The latest name to be mentioned in connection with the Blues is the lengthy Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.

The Atletico winger was shipped off to China a few years ago, in what seemed to be a bit of an early retirement from top tier European football.

But instead he’s come back and looked better than ever since his break in the Far East. He’s still only 28 years old, and there’s plenty of juice left in his legs.

AS.com report that both Chelsea and Man U have been sniffing around the Belgian this summer, but Diego Simeone is keen to keep him, and he’s apparently keen to stay.

With two years left on his contract, he’s coming to a crucial point over the next 12 months, but it sounds far more likely that he renews than leaves at this point.
