The links between Chelsea and Richarlison have been mentioned this summer, but not nearly as strongly as some of the links to other players.
There’s a lot of work to be done on the Romelu Lukaku deal before any major buying of strikers can take place, so Richarlison will have to hold on, but according to the Daily Express Chelsea are very interested and very much in the race.
They cite Miguel Delaney’s column in the Independent where he says that Tottenham and Arsenal’s efforts are “expected to be trumped” by Chelsea.
That may well be so, but both those clubs are active and signing players as we speak. Chelsea need to sort out their sales before they can start their buying, and that might just swing things back in favour of the North London clubs over the next few weeks.
As always, it’s going to be a fascinating chess match.
