“A traditional loan is now looking less likely than a swap deal” – Romelu Lukaku to Inter latest

As Romelu Lukaku to his beloved Inter edges closer and closer, CBS Sports journalist, Ben Jacobs has the rundown on the latest.

Jacobs explains a simple loan is currently less likely than a swap deal, as Chelsea want a defender. The names of Milan Skirniar, Alessandro Bastoni and Denzel Dumfires have been discussed.

He then mentions Chelsea would want over double the €5 million Inter have currently offered. The Blues were originally hoping for €20m, but a €12-15m is the likely fee to be agreed at.

The deal has to make financial sense for the Premier League side, who spent £97.5m on the Belgian striker last summer.

Jacobs then confirms what other reports have said, in that Chelsea are Inter are confident of agreeing a deal in the next week.

This report makes perfect sense from Chelsea’s side. They paid a record fee to secure the signing of Lukaku last summer, they don’t want to be bossed around, they want to benefit from this also, especially with Chelsea in need of defenders.
