Reece James is in talks with Chelsea over a new contract, according to an exclusive report on CaughtOffside today.
They claim that a new 5 year deal, with a “significant pay rise” has been offered, with talks underway.

It’s hardly surprising, and in fact it’s one of those claims that can be made pretty easily given it’s an obvious next step for Chelsea.
After a couple of seasons spending big money on signing new players to huge wages, the club has ended up finding out that its home grown talent like James and Mason Mount are their best players.
They are also now among the most underpaid, given the overall inflation in wages, so it’s vital to tie them down to new deals as soon as possible.
We haven’t taken any of the transfer rumours around James too seriously, but if he doesn’t sign in the next 6 months, we will start to get worried.
