Thomas Tuchel makes it clear he wants experienced midfielder to stay at Chelsea

There are question marks over a number of current Chelsea players’ futures, with a bit of a squad rebuild impending this summer.

We know the ones who are definitely leaving as of now, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, who’s contracts run out next month. But they will surely be joined by more.

One name you can wonder about is N’Golo Kante, purely because he goes into the last year of his contract at the club this summer and as of now, there have been no talks of an extension.

However, it sounds like if it was up to Tuchel, he will be extending Kante’s contract as soon as possible, judging off the latest words and praise he gave the French international after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City last night.

The Blues boss almost ran out of important player names to compare Kante with when describing the importance of him!

“I think he is our key, key, key player, but key, key, key players need to be on the pitch,” Tuchel said on Kante as reported by Football London. “He plays only 40% of the games then it is maybe a miracle that we arrive in third place. He is our Mo Salah, he is our Van Dijk, he is our De Bruyne. He is simply that player, he is our Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

“He is that guy who makes the difference, and if you only have him for 40%, then it is a huge problem. Given that percentage, it is maybe a miracle that he produces results. It puts everything into perspective as I saw Liverpool without Van Dijk last season, and they struggled heavily. You see the difference. N’Golo is our key player, and we need him on the pitch.”

  2. It is indeed very necessary to reshape Chelsea team, but I would advise our manager to leave the goal posts as they are, find two helpers to Thiago, maintain Kante, Cova and Jorghinio, retain Mount, James and Hartvez, and upfront, Lukaku can remain. You can fill the remaining gaps.
