Mason Mount won Chelsea’s player of the year award last night after yet another impressive season as a Blue.
There were long spells where he “wasn’t at his best,” which shows just how high he’s set standards for himself after 3 years as a regular.
He ended the campaign with more goals than anyone else in the squad – and more assists too. That puts him in elite company.
In the Roman Abramovic era, only 4 times did a Chelsea player lead the team in Premier League goals & also assists.

As Alex Goldberg pointed out on Twitter, only four times has one player ruled both categories for Chelsea since Roman Abramovich took over.
One of them was Eden Hazard, who did it twice, and the other was Frank Lampard.
That’s pretty decent company for Mount to keep, and shows just how phenomenal his development has been. He’s already hitting records that players who we considered among the best ever at the club managed just once or twice in their career.
His future gets brighter and brighter.
