Marcos Alonso’s move to Barcelona has been long discussed, but we’ve not had much concrete movement on that front until now.
Finally, we’re stating to get more than just speculative whispers on the subject.
Moi Llorens, who is a well connected insider at the Catalan club, is starting to explain the situation. According to his Tweet today, the situation is simple. Alonso wants to move, and he’s hoping to meet the Chelsea hierarchy soon to discuss it.

Barcelona are keen too – he provides a very different option to Jordi Alba, who is a brilliant player but one who is coming to the end of his abilities at the top level.
Chelsea will be reluctant to lose a player who once again was effectively a first choice option this season, but if the money is right and they can move on to a more like-for-like Ben Chilwell replacement, we can’t see them standing in Alonso’s way.
