Liverpool and Chelsea have fought 4 very close battles this season, with all of them ending in draws.
The two in the cup competitions saw the Reds come out on top on penalties in the end, but the games were all incredibly even, as even Jurgen Klopp recognised today.
The Liverpool manager was speaking in a press conference today where he was assessing his own side’s performance at Wembley.
He praised their first 25 minutes and claimed he wanted it to carry on for the full 90 – but had to concede that “Chelsea are too good for that.”

After the impressive opening salvo from Klopp’s team, Chelsea really found their feet, and by the time the game reached extra time it was the Blues who were pushing.
Unfortunately for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea fans all over the world, they couldn’t score the goal they needed, and there was penalty pain to come.
