Chelsea ready for swoop for £59m defender as soon as takeover completes

Even once the takeover of the club is completed, Chelsea will start this summer with a major handicap. They have been left behind by their rivals, and still have their hands tied even now.

No wonder, then, that the club are planning to strike as quickly as they can once the shackles are off. Goal.com report that the Blues have their move for Jules Kounde of Sevilla all lined up, and they set their plans in motion the moment they are able to.

Sevilla have apparently accepted that they need to sell the defender, and they are also keen to get the deal done early so they can start the process of finding his replacement.

The Spanish side are asking for £59m for Kounde, and it seems like that’s a price Chelsea are willing to pay. The Blues are losing two first team defenders this summer, and can’t waste any more time haggling.
