Bruce Buck and Marina to share £50m bonus if they complete rapid club sale

Matt Lawton of the Times has an interesting exclusive today on the subject of Roman Abramovich’s two most trusted lieutenants at the club, Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck.

The pair are in charge of Chelsea’s day to day operation, and with Abramovich sanctioned, they are his hands during the club’s sale.

Conducting a deal of this size is no easy matter, and there will be great rewards for their hard work should they pull it off.

Lawton writes there’s a £50m bonus that the pair will share, along with other top members of the group conducting the club’s sale.

Given the eventual cost is likely to be £2.5bn or similar, this is a drop in the ocean.

This story also rows back on some of the paper’s claims from last night about issues with the sale and the government approval it needs to go through.

Buried in the story is an admission that those problems are not a concern.

  1. I think they deserve it. If eventually they are replaced from their jobs under the new ownership, they will have something to hold on to. I wish they are allowed to continue with the job, especially Marina.
