A second backroom staff member joins 15 year veteran in Chelsea exit

We have already reported on the departure of goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon from Chelsea today, but it seems he won’t be the only one.

Training Ground Guru – who are on top of all these things – report that strength and conditioning coach Adam Burrows will also be leaving Chelsea this summer.

He arrived at the club with Frank Lampard in 2019, and has worked with the first team since then.

That’s less of a significant move than the departure of 15 year club veteran Lollichon, but it’s still interesting to see that changes are being made behind the scenes.

For once we’re not changing manager and seeing the whole backroom revamped which is a positive, and hopefully this means that Thomas Tuchel will be able to bring in further coaches he knows he works well with.

There have long been whispers that Lollichon has strong connections to Roman Abramovich after such a long time at the club – his departure might confirm that, or be a pure coincidence.

  1. The technical crew should be deliberate in who is brought in to replace the departing staff.
Our players should be properly trained to avoid unnecessary injuries and keep fit for the games week in week out, that’s what football is all about Chelsea should aim for the Premier League Title in the coming season
