“We don’t need special things” – Thomas Tuchel speaks ahead of Real Madrid clash

It’s been a tough few weeks for Chelsea off of the field with all the ownership noise going on, but at least throughout March, the results have been fantastic winning every game.

The players and Thomas Tuchel have managed to stay focused and continued to win matches in what was potentially a time where they could have really fallen off the wagon with all going on.

April though, hasn’t started so well, terribly in fact, with a 4-1 thrashing to Brentford on Saturday. But we have an immediate chance to get straight back onto the wagon and pick up where we were before the weekend, and that comes in the shape of a big Champions League match against Real Madrid this Wednesday.

Of course, we could be up against easier opponents, this game will be very tough. But it does present a great opportunity to bounce back, and Thomas Tuchel has been speaking on that, as reported by The Daily Mirror.

“I will now refuse to make a drama out of it,” Tuchel said. “Why should we? We do what we do.

“We don’t need special things now. We need to rely on the things and trust that we have built throughout the whole season and the whole year.

“I don’t think that we will do crazy stuff now and give crazy speeches or whatever.

“We will do what we need to do to prepare for the next match as well as possible. We need to do our stuff better, on a higher level, more committed, more mature, and we can’t lose concentration for a minute because you can get punished. It is very untypical of us.”
