“That’s why I joined” – Tino Anjorin confident he’s finally made the right move

Tino Anjorin is one of those Chelsea academy talents who just hasn’t quite had that breakout season yet, but we’re convinced he’s close.

His move to Lokomotiv Moscow this season was supposed to be the turning point, but for injury and geopolitical reasons it ended up being a bit of a non-starter.

January saw him move to Huddersfield, where his old academy colleague Levi Colwill is having a breakout of his own.

In a really interesting interview with Football.London, Anjorin explained why he thought the Yorkshire side was the right stop for him:

“When I’ve come on so far, we’ve been trying to win, so maybe we’re going a little more direct, or we’re sitting back a bit and making sure we see out the game,” the attacker explained.

“So I’ve not had the full Championship experience, but all the games have been exciting, tight and close. Really competitive. The promotion push is tight, and there is a lot of pressure, but I love that because it only makes you a better person and player. It’s a good pressure.

“It’s an exciting end to the season for sure. Of course, I hope I can have an impact in every single game and help the club. That’s why I joined.”

If things go well in the final weeks of this season, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Tino go back to the John Smiths stadium next season for a full campaign, given how successfully the Terriers have developed Levi.

A full Championship season is a real make or break for most players – we reckon Anjorin has what it takes.
