One group in running to buy Chelsea will reportedly be well-received by the UK Government

The race to buy Chelsea Football Club may soon be reaching it’s peak and we might finally know who will be the next owners of the club after Roman Abramovich.

The Russian billionaire has been the Blues owner for the last 20 years, but now is the time for a new era at the club, and fans will be eager to know who will be leading them in this.

We won’t have to wait too much longer now, with Raine Group planning to present their choice of new Chelsea owner to Downing Street in the week of April 18, when a licence for sale will then be drawn up to complete the takeover, according to The Evening Standard today.

They say that all four shortlisted bidders have been given the green light by the UK Government, with The Ricketts Family Investment Group set to be ‘well-received’ by them despite fan backlash, as per the same report.
