Christensen understands Chelsea fans frustrations and vows he ‘can perform so much better’

Last night was a night that we will all collectively just want to forget about and move on from as soon as possible.

But unfortunately, there is so much to speak about after it, and it is all negative.

Sources: Chelsea still in touch with agents as Jules Kounde move stays on the cards.

There was even the dramatic incident at the end of the club captain Cesar Azpilicueta going over to have a go at a Chelsea fan after seemingly having some choice words thrown at him.

Chelsea’s 4-2 defeat was tarred by awful performances and individual errors from Chelsea as they gifted the visitors a win.

Thomas Tuchel and the players were left angry and upset after the game and so were the fans.

Defender Andreas Christensen was one of those who made a massive individual error leading to an Arsenal goal, and he has vowed to be better.

The Danish international also says he feels and understands the fans frustrations after a poor performance from him and the team.

“I think we have to take a look at ourselves in the mirror because that performance wasn’t good enough and we know we can play a lot better than that,” Christensen said as reported on the Chelsea website. “We can only blame ourselves for this result.

“We know we are better than this and for me personally, I know I can perform so much better than I what I showed. We need to pick our heads up and go again now.

“Everyone wants the best for the club and there’s a lot of passion from us and from the fans, which is how it should be.

“I can understand any frustrations because tonight we weren’t good enough and we know we have to do a lot better. We want to do this for the fans because we are all proud to play for this club.

“We have to go again and I’m sure the fans will be there again at the weekend to support us, which we need.

“We have to stay focused because we want to finish the season strongly and ensure that we finish third. We’ve also got a cup final at Wembley that we want to win, so there’s still a lot of important games left for us to play this season.

“We need to look at ourselves after this result and then move onto the next game. We want to finish third and win a trophy not just for ourselves, but for the fans as well because they are so passionate for this club.”
