International breaks are often when we hear rumours about players leaving the club, as they go back to their home countries and end up talking openly to media in their native language,
That seems to have been what’s happened with Timo Werner, who chatted with German papers and ended up generating a lot of rumours that he might be keen on leaving Chelsea.
Borussia Dortmund had been suggested as a potential destination for the attacker should he head back to the Bundesliga, but that’s been rather shut down by more recent reports from Sky Germany, who break down a potential and say it would be too expensive for Dortmund.
Chelsea would apparently demand €50m for Werner, and given he’s on a monster €15m a season, it all adds up to way beyond the means of the YellowBlacks.
This is a problem Chelsea will run into time and time again, unless they lower their asking price.
