FA give pointless warning after player admitted he tried to injure Chelsea legend

Football is a game of tensions, passion, desire, and often emotions will get on top of players.

Back in the times of the likes of John Terry and Frank Lampard playing for Chelsea, players would often leave literally everything on that pitch and do anything to win games.

Wayne Rooney can certainly be described as one of those players, and he recently admitted in his documentary released on Amazon Prime, that he once wore longer studs and was intent on injuring a Chelsea player when he matched up against them for Manchester United.

Rooney ended up leaving his mark on John Terry, who left the game on crutches.

The studs were not illegal, and to be honest this kind of thing happened all the time in the game back then. Terry would not have been bothered at all, and he actually laughed about it on Twitter last week.

But the FA have issued Rooney with a warning for the incident today (via Sky Sports), even after all these years, in what is probably the most pointless warning they have ever given!!
