It was put to Thomas Tuchel after his win tonight that Chelsea’s cut throat atmosphere of “win at all costs” could be draining, but instead he insisted it was exciting, and kept the team sharp, above all.
He always gives such good honest answers on things like this, and while diplomatic, he gives you a strong sense of the reality of his cold relations with the club and the general brutality of football.
“This is a gift” he explained of the feelings his players get that they’re expected to win trophies every season.
