Chelsea are prioritising the position of wing back during this transfer window, putting anything else largely on the back burner.
This is due to the fact that Ben Chilwell is out injured for the rest of the season, and Reece James is also now out injured for around 7 weeks, missing some key matches.
The left hand side is the most pressing position to add cover to, and there have been a few names linked with Chelsea so far.
Multiple sources have now confirmed that Chelsea have an interest in signing Everton left back, Lucas Digne, and a fresh report has come out on that situation today.
Transfer insider Dean Jones has said that Digne wants to join Chelsea, and that he expects The Blues to progress with a move to sign him soon.
Jones was speaking on The Si & Dan Talk Chelsea Podcast today and addressed the Digne situation.
“Lucas Digne makes the most sense,” he said.
“I’m told he wants to join Chelsea if he could choose what happens next. I think Chelsea will start progressing it.”
