It’s the 79th minute and Tottenham are just one nil down. Yet minute by minute, more and more empty seats are appearing. Why? Well, just look at the side-line.
With their team 3-0 down on aggregate but still looking dangerous, most loyal Spurs fans would be expected to stay until the final whistle. But when they saw N’Golo Kante standing with the fourth official ready to come on, many of them gave up on the whole enterprise.
Kante coming on and a few Spurs fans are leaving the stadium in response.

Can't be a coincidence that Spurs supporters are leaving. I mean, your team is 3-0 down to the Champions of Europe who bring Kante on for the last 15 minutes.

Can you really blame them? We used to use Jon Obi Mikel in a similar role, and Kante is like the luxury version. With the game stretched as it is, and no minutes already in his legs, it’s no wonder some of the locals have given up all hope. Their chances have just plummeted from “slim” to “none”, and even getting a goal at this stage looks difficult.D
If we were in their shoes, we might just be doing the same…
No, the Spurs fans gave up as soon as Doherty was named in the starting line up.
