Thomas Tuchel names just two doubts for tomorrow’s game as Chelsea appear to be back at full power

If you ignore the long term injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell, Chelsea’s squad is as strong as it’s been all season pretty much.

Asked about who was available for tomorrow’s game against Tottenham Hotspur, Thomas Tuchel said it was the same people who were available for the cup tie at the weekend – i.e. everyone.

There will be just two absences – both N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva have tested negative after their Covid infections last week, but protocol dictates they can’t be back training until Thursday. Tuchel seems to indicate it’s possible they will be in the squad tomorrow night, but that would contradict our understanding that it’s a minimum of 7 days out, even following negative tests.

“We have the same guys as we have in the cup game. No new injuries which is good for us, then we have to wait on the last minute decisions for Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante.”

Football.London had all the quotes from the Chelsea boss as he explained his squad current positive state. We don’t want to count our chickens just yet, but things are looking a lot brighter now we’ve had a game off for most players, and have options in defence and midfield again.

Trevoh Chalobah’s status wasn’t mentioned, which means it must be a slight injury at worst.
