Wow, a Lewis Baker transfer rumour. We thought we’d written our last of these a good 5 years ago.
But he’s back at the club, and after making his first Chelsea appearance since his debut 8 years ago, the midfielder is being linked with free transfers to lower league English teams
The Independent say that Stoke City are one of the sides looking at him, and add that he could make the move as soon as this month. Baker’s contract doesn’t expire until the summer, but the club could agree to terminate it, or simply allow him on a 6 month loan deal until then.
The Potters are looking to reinforce their squad to keep in the hunt for a play off place, and Baker’s class on the ball and set piece delivery would help a lot of teams at that level.
