Lewis Baker hopes to stay in English football despite Ligue 1 offer

Lewis Baker played his first game for Chelsea in EIGHT YEARS against Chesterfield when he came on as a substitute, and we were delighted to be able to give him a clap at Stamford Bridge.

His career just hasn’t worked out how we hoped, but he’s still played plenty of football along the way, and been well paid for it.

He’s still young enough to do great things if he can settle somewhere, and he’s apparently got his sights set on staying in English football.

Goal.com‘s Nizaar Kinsella reports that he has turned down interest from Ligue 1 in favour of trying to stay put once his contract expires at the end of the season.

If he can stay somewhere for a few years, we’re sure he can start to make up for lost time. It’s not going to be at Chelsea, but we’re delighted to he got make one final appearance.
