Kenedy has been recalled from his loan spell at Flamengo, Chelsea have announced.
The versatile left sided player made 18 appearances in 6 months at the Maracana, but has largely been out of favour, and is not playing as much as his parent club would like.
We’ve already heard from various sources that Kenedy has not been brought back to cover at left back for Chelsea, even though he has played there for us before. It’s purely because he’s not playing enough in Rio, and they want to get him in the shop window elsewhere immediately.
Having said that, once he’s training with the team, there’s no guessing what might happen… if the club can’t find anyone suitable to back up Marcos Alonso and Kenedy impresses, they could do worse than letting him be the man to fill in for a couple of games between now and the end of the season.
